American Eagle is another typical local credit union. My credit is ~750 with a 100% on time payment history and I applied for a small loan last week. The online application was ok, but the process itself was a hassle. In regards to communication, I got one email from them confirming that my application was submitted and *approved*. That’s it. No phone calls and no other emails. I literally had to call everyday to check up on the status of my application because no one was reaching out to me to discuss it. Also, to be considered, I had to open a savings account, which is fine with me. I did that online and their online form for that was super glitchy. It kept redirecting me and wouldn’t accept my current bank account information to make the minimum deposit (yes I entered all the info correctly). I was able to finally open the savings account and even got an email confirmation saying so. Now, let’s fast forward to today. I received an email saying that my application had been denied which is frustrating because they left me in the dark for five days. The best part is, after they denied me, I applied for a loan in the same amount at another financial institution today and got approved IMMEDIATELY with a good interest rate. Nice job AEFCU, you lost what would’ve been a very loyal and reliable customer.
