I reached out to Churchill after seeing so many good reviews. I was trying to find a lender who would match a loan I was offered by a previous lender before it expired, where I could buy down my pmi without increasing my interest rate. Churchill assigned me to an officer who told me everything I wanted to hear, and said they could offer me the same. Wrote me up an estimate, had me submit my documents, everything looked good. Fast forward to a couple months later as I'm still home searching, and I reach out for a new monthly mortgage estimate and all of a sudden the interest rate they're offering me has taken a large jump! Now, I'm aware that interest rates change regularly, but I'm also somebody who stays on top of market news and knows when they're increasing/decreasing. Interest rates have DROPPED recently, NOT increased (as my Churchill lender tried to tell me), and especially not to what they were now trying to offer me. I should also mention I have good credit so I should be offered on the lower end of rates. I reached out to a couple other lenders I know, and they confirmed that rates had dropped and told me what they're currently at (mid 3% range). My Churchill loan officer had said they would match rates, but when I brought up what other lenders confirmed the rates were currently at he went silent. So clearly this company is trying to get one over on people. A bait-and-switch. Do your research! I'm annoyed that they wasted my time and pinged my credit again, when I could have gone to an honest lender.
