Overall Feedback:
Just like any other bank now. They no longer stand out as the once friendly welcoming bank. Cater to the rich, take from the poor. Liberal and communist. If you have 10,000 in the bank, checking, savings, etc. You get all the wonderful checking benefits. No fees as one.Our family will NEVER have 10,000, ever in the bank. With disabilities, we are not allowed to have those assets. But of course, DSB won't listen. For years we had FREE checking, and DSB was kindly one of the last to offer this.Well a few years ago, they went bigger with new buildings, etc. Great for them. A few years ago, they converted us and others not keeping 10 grand in the bank to CHOICE CHECKING, WHICH IS A NIGHTMARE for low income! You ARE FORCED TO HAVE A DEBIT CARD! YOU ARE FORCED to make 4 transactions with that useless debit card and they must post before the end of the month, or you're charged 50 cents for each 4 transactions you did not make. Communism anyone? Big corporate? If you want Paper statements, you are also charged 2.00 a month. So if you don't use your debit card 4 times, and you want paper statements, it's a 4.00 monthly charge total for CHOICE checking. So you are FORCED into this garbage if you are low income, can not have assets due to disabilities. Some people don't have internet, so they can't see their statements. What? Go to the library or someplace else that might actually have computers to check on your account only to get hacked later? PLEASE NOTE: Places offering wi fi, is assuming you have a smartphone, tablet, portable computer. But if you dont have those devices, you need a place still that has an actual computer. Now 4.00 is reasonable for most, and we could agree to this. However, it's the fact that being FORCED to have a debit card, Forced to have online statements just proves how they continue to cater to the higher income, while taking from the poor. They decided to become typical corporate liberals.Note, we speak on behalf of the people who have banked at DSB for several years. But older AND younger generations hate this.Another big gripe MANY people have, is the fact it used to be a bank where everybody knew your name, was all friendly. Things changed. All their former good staff QUIT, retired early, fired, and no new tellers really stay! We can prove it from those people. Now you walk in, and always someone new who doesn't know who you are. It feels and appears like there are new employees there every week. Training at this branch for other branches is a terrible idea in a small town, and tells a lot about the other branches if they can't do it themselves. Just like politicians, they don't listen to low income people. Nope. Sure, they have surveys every couple of years.....on the internet only. Assuming one has internet... Do they listen? Nope.Bigger is not always BETTER D.S.B.! We speak on behalf of those who cannot, or speak for others in the community. We trusted you for years. Also note: we, among many, are victims of having other people's money deposited into our account, several new teller mistakes to count. The big guys came in and in a few years, the employees we knew and loved, who respected us are GONE, and around the same time frame. The personal bankers are beyond rude, snippy and in a hurry when you have issues. Would rather find a bank with worse rules for better customer service! We are not saying don't go here, we are saying open your eyes and informing the new generations. But the people with the extra money..... will they care about the ones who do not? Usually no. Of course, the new customers are unaware of the scams from former employees that eventually got caught.Mainly cater to business banking, of course, no problems there.NOTE: (some) of the people with former reviews are well known, and (some) are highly well set and have well enough money, so please understand this from low income point of view.Well, just another bank now. No longer stands out. Not just our opinions.
