Love this place! Great selection and a very knowledgeable and friendly staff.But I do take exception with something. It has been difficult to find USDA graded beef. I've seen USDA choice sirloin (sliced ultra thin). But as for larger, primal cuts of beef like ribeye or New York strip found in their walk-in cooler is all from Mexico. I don't have any problems with Mexico, except with the quality of the beef. You might get a nice cut with intra-muscular fat similar to a USDA choice graded beef, but often that is not the case. Is it possible to have choice or even prime beef at a meat market with as much business as Mcauliffes sees? I should think so...
