Update: Since my last post, the firm has been more helpful. Lori called me to sort things out. I think the issue is that they aren't familiar with state requirements/taxes outside of Utah. If you're based in UT, I'm sure the firm is great, if you're not based in UT, then a firm within your state or a large multi-state firm may be a better option. I think another reviewer also states this issue. Older post: I decided to try them out because I actually met Jon once at my old company and one of my old coworkers use them as his accounting firm. My experience has been terrible. I called them to figure out if I should set up a S-corp for my independent contractor income, and then the woman I talked to gave me a vague answer and said she could set one up if I'd like. She said I could file it myself, so I did, and that she would complete the tax form to set up the corporation as an S-corp. After several weeks of waiting, she finally sent me the forms with the instructions. When I asked her cash flow questions, and about quarterly taxes, she just emailed me "Go for it!" and didn't answer any of my tax questions. Now I have an S-corp and a LLC but I have no guidance on how to do payroll, quarterly taxes (which from Googling, I'm pretty sure I missed the April deadline for), and now have all of these penalties building on me that will have to be paid out when I file my taxes next March. I'm incredibly disappointed and felt my service was very unprofessional.
