Be careful. My escrow just went up 25%. They are terrible at estimating taxes and ins. It should be against the law to buy and sell mortgages. BBB will be hearing from me.

This is the worst company ever to work with, they keep telling lies. It's too bad that you just end up having to work with a company like this and have no other choice. They can hold you hostage and steal your money and you just have to take it or loose your house. I'm going to post on Facebook as well. They need to be stopped. I'm filing a complaint with CA Depart of business oversite, The Attorney Generals office in my state, HUD and the Federal Reserve.

The other three reviews must be from employees, not customers.Our mortgage was purchased from Wells Fargo about 4+ years ago. I never had an issue with Wells. PennyMac has been difficult to deal with. Their customer service is hit and miss.I’ve called to discuss refi options with them in the past and they won’t quote me a rate, they told me by law they weren’t allowed to quote me a rate until I filled out an application. All of the other lenders I have been speaking with will quote me an interest rate immediately. Go figure.I just recently had an appraisal done on my house to get PMI off my mortgage. The realtor came and did his assessment and appraised my house 100k lower than my realtor, Zillow, Redfin and other appraisers believe my home is worth. On top of that the appraisal fee was $800 which is double the going rate in my state. I called to dispute the fee amount and they didn’t have any information about my appraisal because fannie mae is my investor. So I requested the invoice and appraisal assessment (since I’m the one paying for it) and they haven’t provided it to me. If you look them up on yelp, they have no satisfied customers. Looks like their employees are boosting their rating. My money must be going to their new building. Look elsewhere for a lender!!!!

I called re refinance on my pennymac mortgage and they quoted very uncompetitive rate and v high costs. So I kicked off the refi with another company. THEN I get a call from pennymac wanting to work with me on a better offer. Too late. You should learn how to keep existing customers. Btw pennymac quoted a laughable >7k costs to get slightly higher than market rate.

Warning if you pay extra payments on mortgage! They might conveniently have “accounting errors” when you clearly marked pay to principal. Then have weird reversals and other accounting issues and place the money in “suspense”. They either have an archaic system or they are unethical. Shame on your lack of ethics and/or negligence and/or fraud.

This was the absolute smoothest and quickest refi I have ever done. I collected my documents before ever contacting PennyMac to refinance an FHA 5 year ARM loan that's 5 years were up. In less than a month, I had signed all the paperwork and closed, a full month earlier than they anticipated. Everyone was so helpful and professional. Special Thanks to Darius Jackson (Loan Officer) and Emma Hamlin (Processor) for their quick, professional and amazing help on my refi! A great experience!
