Let me start off by saying that I don't normally write reviews, but my experience with Farmers National Bank (FNB) was bad enough that it was deserving of a negative review. If I could give them less than 1 star, I certainly would have. After being a member of FNB for the better part of 30 years, they were my first choice for obtaining a loan for a construction project. Little did I know that thousands of dollars and 7 months later, I'd be told there was absolutely nothing they could do for me. I'm going to spare most of the lengthy details of this horrible experience, but I'll touch on one of the highlights. After already being into the loan process for several months, FNB claimed that they could not loan money for a project on this particular property because it was in a flood zone, per their 1985 map (now 2017). It was very obvious to everyone involved that the property was indeed not in a flood zone, yet FNB persisted. The outcome was paying thousands and waiting months to have a new flood report done, showing the property was no longer in a flood zone. Funny thing is, there were other FNB loans on this property in the past and it was never an issue. In the end, the flood report didn't matter, because FNB came up with a myriad of other excuses as to why they could not do the loan. This experience led this 30 year customer to pull everything from FNB and take my business elsewhere. It almost seemed as if this was FNB's first attempt at loaning money....the process had no organization, was very confusing, deceptive, and in my opinion unethical. I will definitely never do business with Farmers National Bank again! When asked, I encourage my family and friends to do the same.
