At first Toast seemed like a good option. I purchased a restaurant that was already on Toast and decided to continue. The first thing I noticed, after some major bugs got worked out - was the extremely high credit card rates. When I approached them, they said they will match any offer but that was not the case. I got them down to a rate I felt I could love with - 1.89% (swiped) but didn't pay much attention to the .15 per transaction charge. When I opened a second location that immediately began doing the same volume, they will not go below 2.24% saying the mix of cards is different. Because Toast is proprietary, I cannot even shop them so I will need to change everything to get a fair rate - this is costing many wasted thousands annually, not to mention the monthly fee per location of $240 versus $45 with Clover or others. Run fast, run hard.
