Client Review on Fairfield National Bank: Memorial Drive Office
Feedback:
WARNING!!! DO NOT USE FAIRFIELD NATIONAL BANK FOR YOUR SAVINGS ACCOUNT! Fisrt I should say that Fairfield National Bank is not my primary bank. I have done the majority of my banking through Chase (who I have never had a problem with) but because my parents bank through Fairfield National I decided to set up a savings account with Fairfield National when I moved out on my own 2 years ago. Since then I have gotten married and decided to join savings accounts with my husband who also banks with Chase. I went in today during one of those blue moon moments when the planets align to where a normal working adult actually has the time off when the bank is also open to go in to deal with closing down my account at Fairfield National and transferring the money over to Chase. So my first question to the tellers who were all just loitering around was about the best way to transfer my money. I was trying to find out how to electronically transfer the funds from Fairfield National to Chase. I was informed that that is not an option and that I would have to transfer the money myself... in cash...?! Is this the 1800's?! I just find it hard to believe that in 2018 there isn't a better method than me having to personally carry thousands of dollars around myself. The second problem is that they refused to give me my money back because they said my account is inactive! In my experience a savings account is by nature less active than a checking account because most ey goes in and the idea is to not take it back out! but these people with very little interest inform me I will have to fill out paperwork and apply to have my account re activated! The girl asks me if I'd like to do that and I said of course because my only other option is to let them keep my money forever?! So now I have to wait days or maybe even a week and find another time to go back in in person to get my money out in cash and move it myself at a later date. My question is WHERE is the customer service? All I can say is thank God it's not an emergency that I needed the money for immediately or I would be in serious trouble! I didn't realize that when I gave Fairfield National my money that I was giving them full control to hold it indefinitely and refuse to give it back. I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Fairfield National Bank.
