After briefly speaking to a loan officer (they insist on being called "mortgage analysts"), he abruptly asked for my social security number. I told him to give me a ballpark cost and rate without running a credit report. I informed him that four other banks I already talked to that day had given me a quote. He literally said, "there's no way in hell I can tell you what the rate is without your SSN." What a joke, totally unprofessional.
