Initially signed up to have the ability to take card payments for our UK business.Quickly found out that UK support is non-existent, either by phone (which rings out), live chat (that gets cut short) or email (where you get short answered by a bot). I do not like leaving poor reviews but if you want the ability to take card payments, I would genuinely advise you to look elsewhere - I am moving to Square who have UK support and are willing to help businesses.

While we would not say "Avoid', we would advise caution before using SumUp.Very poor service, thought migrating from normal terminals to SumUp would be a good way to move towards HMRC asking for electronic accounts and the paperless office. After a few weeks they decided that they would take payments but not send them out to our bank account while they wanted to review invoicing.Having set up with them as a Ltd company, we have provided considerable business information along with directors details and a host of information to ensure we are a bone-fide company prior to taking any payments.It is untenable to be willing to take funds, but then to hold them indefinitely with no assurance on the speed of any review or the ratio of these checks in the future. We take our customers security seriously but their security team refuse to talk to an account holder and customer services have very little real information to deal with anything but the most mundane questions.From a confidentiality and GDPR point, being asked for a copy of a full invoice that contains other customer details AND being asked for information on what was paid for plus a description is breaking our customers confidence. Were a business to be offering services of a personal or intimate nature such a request could be very embarrassing.In our opinion 7 days should be allowed to provide information, this is a reasonable time period for any legitimate company to locate requested information and contact their own customer for consent to share details of the payment.In our opinion, SumUp has someone making poor decisions, without considering the ramifications to either their customers or impact on our customers.

They close a business account without any warning, leaving the company unable to collect money during a fundraising event.A complaint was opened but they don't bother at all.They are so bad that they even didn't refund the £29+vat for each terminal purchase.Matter brought to the financial ombudsman.Advice: STAY AWAY

Shocking company they owe me 7thousand pounds!!! I have produced all documents they have requested. I have now asked them to refund my customers and I can seek alternative payment but still nothing DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This company has very poor customer service and are not able to explain where my money is or how long it will take for me to get it. I keep getting told that the security team have it and that they are reviewing it, this has been for the last 2 weeks, unfortunately I have had to ask for the £430 payment to be sent back to the purchaser so that we can pay it another way instead. I will not be recommending this product to other business friends of mine.

These payment terminals are good and cheap. Unfortunately, the customer service repeatedly gives incorrect information. Unfortunately the phones of the brand WIKO are not compatible with the SUMUP system. Then the connectivity gets lost and falls asleep again and again. Again and again you have to confirm the code. No permanent connection with WIKO possible! Incident at WIKO Y60 and WIKO WK 300

Machine is always give you trouble while connecting through Bluetooth. It is so embarrassing when customer waiting to make payment and you are juggling and praying to machine to connect with your phone device. Have tried so many times reset on phone before it finally get connected and after one or two transaction it will start giving you same trouble again.Called agent for help and he was telling me same things to login and logout from app, delete, install, reset device. Keeping doing this every time when customer waiting to make payment.

Absolutely useless. If you’re serious about your business don’t get hooked up on cheap processing rates. There is a good reason for low rates – SUMUP customer support is below inadequate, it’s so bad that it will leave you scratching your head trying to understand how asking same question you get 3 different answers from 3 different agents. When emailed so called complaint department, I got answer from 4th person, and guess what – it was completely different from other 3… Good luck trying to run business using SUMUP, easiest option – close account and stick to something that works maybe with higher rates but adequate support.

If it was possible to leave 0 stars I would have. This company is quite extraordinary, I purchased one of these machines with the idea that I may need it one day for an outdoor event. When turning on the machine it came up with a message saying that the device was blocked and that I should contact customer support. I was told that nothing could be done about the fault and that I was to purchase a new one at a discount. THE MACHINE HAD NEVER BEEN USED, IT WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX!!!!!! Rather comical, why on earth would you re-purchase something that did not work in the first place !!!!

I have used this for a month now and its going very very well. People pay for what Im selling, then 2 days I get the money into my account. Going very good at the moment.
