Client Review on Worldpay

Feedback:

Choose Worldpay if you would like a short lived business! What can you expect from them? In my opinion...to be a faceless nameless company which, quite frankly, does not care, despite them being solely responsible for almost crushing you and your business. Sounds dramatic doesn’t it? Amazing what a few admin errors can result in...We started a new Hospitality business 7 months ago and set up a contract with Worldpay to be our merchant services supplier. Worldpay set us up with 2 merchant numbers (fail #1) and one of these was not set up correctly with our bank details not added to it (fail #2) What did this mean? Our income was split through 2 channels - though we were only aware of one - and only one of these channels was dropping into our bank account. Worldpay was holding the rest. Every month we wondered what was going wrong. Every month the pressure grew and grew and we were unable to pay our greatest asset...staff. We lost 4 key members (we currently have 13), 3 directors took out loans to give us a basic level of cash flow and the directors also had to fill the positions of the 4 the business had lost. This was additional unpaid hours of around 30 per director per week. But we had no choice as we were battling to stay afloat. But it’s OK because unbeknown to us...and seemingly Worldpay as it turns out...a THIRD of our overall income had been accumulating in their accounts for 7 months. Good of them to keep it safe from us, though on reflection they probably should have given us a call at some point to let us know it was there, so we didn't have to reduce staff and almost kill ourselves in the process. Indeed we worked out eventually there was something wrong and after arguing with advisors for hours, in the end (we waited for a specific and significant deposit to land in our account and it didn’t) the money was found. So what now? Well 11 days later it’s still not in our account, as advisors keyed in wrong bank information (fail #3) but we believe it will land Monday. Maybe. Am sure our banks that we owe unpaid loans and mortgages to will be OK with that. Not a single apology, not an offer of compensation (despite charging us £250 a month in fees for keeping our money safe), no rational and no explanation in relation to what happens with our account(s??) going forward. World’s number one they may claim to be, but I hope this review helps if you are wondering who to choose.
