Use TransferWise instead of Xoom! My experience with Xoom was so disappointing, I'll never use them again. I chose Xoom to transfer money (to South Korea) because it was a PayPal company. After I completed my transaction at 9pm on Wednesday, Xoom promptly took $1100 out of my bank account on Thursday, but more than 48 hours later, at 10pm on Friday night, I get an email saying they cancelled my transaction due to "unexpected problem". When I called their customer service, I wasn't offered any explanation or help, other than very unsympathetic "sorry, we will refund your money in 3-5 business days"!!! When I explained I still need to send money to my family urgently, and can't wait 3-5 days, I was promised a call back soon. No one called over the weekend. 11:22am on Monday, I get an email stating my refund has been initiated, allow up to 3 business days to receive refund! On the contrary, when I submitted a transaction with TransferWise, I got better exchange rate, and my family received money on the same day it left my bank account!

i used a credit card to pay with xoom and I paid 3% fee to xoom , then $10 fee to credit card and they said it was a cash advance so they started charging 25% interest per year on that daily - so it is a terrible company - they did not refund me all these fees.

I gave one star because of Xoom’s way of handling customer service. I had a fraud issue and called in to report it and instead of helping me out it was easier for them to kick me off their service. I can not believe a company who claims to be safe But it’s not. They rather terminate service and kick people off their service instead of handling fraud claims. Also, I am feed up with the call centers never understanding my explanation. Basically it’s not safe, it’s not convenient when you have to chase customer service and they will just terminate your business without an explanation. It’s a joke, it’s a bad business, no customer service and it’s not safe. There are better companies that can handle your request to send money.

They would not let me send money to a pen pal that i had never met in person. It is good that they are safe, but they are too careful and would not let me explain the transaction. They just terminated my account without proper justification. I was in compliance with their user agreement. So I am very disappointed with how they treated me. I Would not recommend XOOM to anyone at this point in time.

I wish i would give no stars at all, worst customer service ever. Everytime i send money it would take at least 7 days. Xoom withdraw money from my bank account and transferred it after 5 business days for many of my transactions.

This is Very very complicated process of verification! Really bad customer service! Really bad! Do yourself a favor and find another provider! Frustrating!!!

Xoom does not give their customers the fair daily exchange rate. They charge you a transaction fee which is OK but ,they are also making big money on the exchange rate. If you are sending 100 dollars not a big deal but, if you are sending one thousand or more they are getting in to your pockets.
